A Letter from Dianne Anderson

All of us in Nursing at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center are privileged to practice in an organization that has drawn on a rich and powerful heritage from each of its founding member hospitals. BIDMC Nurses, in the context of this wonderful heritage, remain the heart and soul of patient care delivery.

At Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center our care is based on exemplary integrated programs that are grounded in four basic, but extremely important core values.

  • Caring and Concern for the patient and family is paramount.

  • Exemplary interdisciplinary care is critical to high quality and personalized care of patients and families.

  • Professional Nurses are a treasured resource and are involved in Patient Care Services leadership through the Shared Governance environment.

  • Sophisticated, high quality nursing leadership is a cornerstone of high quality care. Nursing leaders at BIDMC are characterized by unimpeachable ethics, high visibility to staff, patients, and families, mutual respect, intellectual honesty, and professional collegiality.

As we enter this new millennium, we embrace this vision of Nursing at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center: A visible community of professional nurses, and other staff, committed to the health and well-being of our patients, staff, and their families.

Sincerely,

Dianne Anderson, MS, RN
Vice President, Patient Care Services
